Eco Tires for those who want to save fuel
The high price of vehicle fuel makes many parties do various things to save on its use. If you want to save fuel oil (BBM), just use eco tires which can help.
The word eco comes from an economical acronym, the term eco tire is attached to tires that can help reduce fuel consumption in vehicles. Without these advantages, tires cannot be labeled as eco tires.
One of Dunlop's superior products which has economic value is ENASAVE EC300+, this eco tire is trusted by many well-known car manufacturers in Indonesia as an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) tire.
This tire is known for its excellent level of comfort and long tire life. However, more than that, the ENASAVE EC300+ promises low fuel consumption.
How Can Eco Tires Reduce Fuel Consumption?
The ability to reduce fuel consumption promised in eco tires is not nonsense. Eco tires do have the capacity to reduce fuel consumption. This is possible from the low rolling resistance produced by eco tires, thanks to the addition of special materials inside the tires.
Rolling resistance is the force exerted by the road or surface on a vehicle's tires to prevent them from rolling. This occurs when the tire rubs against the road surface.
If rolling resistance is low, the tire will slide more easily on the road. On the other hand, if the rolling resistance is high, the tire is more difficult to move on the road surface.
The ease with which tires glide on the road affects engine performance. If the tires are easy to drive, the engine doesn't need to work as hard. In this way, fuel savings will occur.
However, if the rolling resistance is high, it will be more difficult for the tire to move. As a result, the engine has to work extra, so it requires more fuel. That's what makes fuel consumption actually increase.
For this reason, eco tires must have low rolling resistance. This can be achieved with the right tire material. Usually tires are filled with silica to reduce rolling resistance.
Silica is a material that can provide density in tires. This is important because the tire must be solid so that rolling resistance is low and has good traction.
Silica material is able to provide tire density and better traction than carbon which is a common tire compound. The dense compound makes the tires spin immediately when the vehicle is moving. The result is light engine work so that fuel is more efficient.
However, if the compound is not dense enough, the opposite condition will occur. The wheel needs more time to turn. As a result, the engine works harder.
Influence of Other Factors
However, car fuel consumption is not only related to tires. For example, driving style, vehicle type, and road conditions also determine fuel consumption
If you like to drive your vehicle aggressively, such as driving at high speed or like braking suddenly, you will use more fuel. Then, larger vehicles will definitely require more fuel than small cars.
The same is true if the vehicle is used on smooth roads or damaged roads. Fuel consumption on good roads will be lower because the rolling resistance produced by the tires is also smaller.
So, also pay attention to the various factors that determine fuel consumption in the vehicle. Knowing this will change your driving behavior for the better. In this way, the use of eco tires to save fuel can be more optimal.
