Negative Impact of Mixing Fuel in Motor Vehicles
Ignorance in the automotive world often brings disaster. For example, many people often mix fuel for certain purposes. In fact, mixing fuel is a practice that should be avoided and is not even recommended at all. The reason is, there are various negative consequences that may arise after Drivemate often mixes fuel. Anything? Come on, let's learn here!
8 Negative Impacts of Mixing Fuel
The negative impacts of mixing fuel are quite varied, ranging from impacts on the environment, health, to car engines. Here's the complete explanation!
1. Fuel System Damage
BBM usually contains detergent which is useful in cleaning scale and deposits. If fuel is mixed, the detergent cannot work properly. So, the performance of the fuel engine is also not optimal. Usually, the fuel system that will be disrupted due to this reason is the fuel pump because the large amount of scale and deposits will cause the pump to jam.
2. Machine Damage
There are several vehicle engines whose basic materials are metal, such as valves and pistons. The fuel mixture can cause metal corrosion on these components.
If the valves and pistons are rusty or have other problems, the temperature and pressure in the engine will increase. If it is serious, the combustion process in the valves and pistons will not run well and may suddenly be damaged. Not only that, there are still several other engine components that are made of metal, which can trigger the risk of damage and interference with other components.
3. Decreased Vehicle Performance
From system to engine damage, of course fuel mixing will have a lasting impact on vehicle performance. For example, non-optimal combustion in the engine will reduce engine power. If engine power is not optimal, speed control performance and vehicle response will also decrease. In fact, this performance optimization is really needed when Drivemate is on an uphill track
4. Disrupted catalyst
Apart from that, vehicles usually have a catalyst component. This component can reduce harmful gas emissions that will be produced by the engine. Additional substances that appear from mixing fuel can contaminate the catalyst. If the catalyst is damaged due to this pollution, the Drivemate vehicle engine can produce dangerous gas emissions.
5. Decreased fuel efficiency
Many people mix fuel for economical reasons. In fact, when the fuel combustion engine is no longer able to work optimally, fuel efficiency will also decrease. So, instead of being more economical, the engine will actually consume more fuel. This is also caused by the physical properties of fuel such as viscosity and density. If these properties change, fuel flow can also be disrupted.
6. Health problems
As mentioned previously, mixed fuel can produce dangerous gases. Well, these dangerous gases usually include carbon monoxide (CO) or nitrogen oxide (NOx). These dangerous contents are not very good for health and can cause certain problems, such as respiratory tract problems, toxic and carcinogenic effects, eye health effects, and health threats to children and the elderly who are quite vulnerable.
7. Environmental pollution
Apart from having an impact on bodily health, the dangerous gases produced can also cause negative effects on the environment such as pollution. Excessive pollution can have a serious impact on global warming due to increased greenhouse gas emissions. Apart from that, this effect will be even more risky if Drivemate accidentally spills the mixed fuel because the fuel mixture can also pollute water and soil.
The negative impact above shows that the ban on fuel oplos is not unfounded. By following existing rules, Drivemate helps prevent undesirable things, starting from preventing engine damage, maintaining health, and helping to reduce environmental pollution. So that your vehicle's engine can be more optimal, you also need to use quality tires from Dunlop. Come on, find out the product line up from Dunlop here!
