Avoid Partially Changing Car Tires
As you use it, the condition of your car tires will deteriorate. Eventually the tire will become damaged and require replacement. If you want to replace it, it is recommended to replace four tires at once. Avoid changing only part of your car tire.
Car tires are a vital vehicle component. In direct contact with the road surface, tires support a comfortable ride as well as comfort. Therefore, when the condition is bad, the tires should be replaced immediately.
When you want to do this, it is recommended to replace everything immediately. Four new tires must be purchased at once. This is important because only partially replacing a car tire has the potential to disrupt the comfort and safety of the vehicle.
Tires that have even capabilities will definitely be more balanced. Performance when performing maneuvers will also be optimal. If one or more tires have different capabilities than the others, then the traction characteristics can vary. As a result, the car's control becomes unbalanced.
For example, a two-wheel drive car. If you only replace one tire, a discrepancy in tire speed will appear. New tires with good tread will rotate more slowly than old tires that are worn out.
What is the impact? It is possible that the tires are sending incorrect signals to the traction control and antilock braking systems. This will be dangerous for the braking system.
Not only that, if the tires don't react the same because one tire is slower or faster when accelerating, the car's maneuverability can be disrupted. Controlling the car will be more difficult when braking, cornering or accelerating.
Therefore, avoid replacing partial car tires. It's better to do it all at once. This is even mandatory for four-wheel drive cars.
In a 4x4 wheel drive car, road conditions matter. The system will automatically work optimally on wet and slippery roads. However, if there is a tire in a different condition than the others, the system could misidentify it.
Let's say if you only replace one new tire. So, these tires will rotate more slowly than the others. This can enable the all-wheel-drive system to be active on dry road surfaces. In the end, this can trigger damage.
TEMPORARY SOLUTION
Therefore, it is highly recommended to replace all tires at once. However, if you can't do that, at least two tires should be replaced.
This can still be tolerated by two-wheel drive cars. However, make sure to install them on the same axle. Then install the new tire on the rear wheel.
New tires that have thicker tread will be able to shed water well. When passing through wet roads, water is automatically thrown backwards. If the rear tire is in poor condition, the risk of slipping will be greater.
Not only that, the rear wheels need better traction. Because, if oversteer occurs there, controlling the car will be more difficult than on the front tires.
However, replacing just two tires is not the best solution. If you want a safe and comfortable trip, it is better to replace all four tires at once. When you want to do this, make sure the brand, model, size and tread pattern are all the same.
Differences in tire models and brands will trigger differences in traction and wheel rotation. This can result in different levels of wear, resulting in less than optimal car control.
So, avoid replacing partial car tires. Change four tires at once for vehicle safety and comfort.
