Know Cruise Control and its Proper Use
Many of the latest cars are equipped with Cruise Control. This feature actually really helps driving comfort. However, if you use it incorrectly, danger could await. Therefore it is very important to know its proper use.
Cruise Control is one of the results of the rapid development of automotive technology. This feature is here to help the driver's comfort, especially when they want to travel long distances of up to hundreds of kilometers.
When driving long distances, drivers can feel tired because they have to constantly press the gas pedal. With Cruise Control, this can be overcome. This feature, which is also often referred to as Speed Control or Autocruise, will reduce driver fatigue.
Why is it like that? The technology in Cruise Control is able to regulate stable engine speed without requiring a step on the gas pedal. Thanks to Cruise Control, the car can keep moving at a constant speed without needing to step on the gas pedal.
This ability will be very helpful when traveling long distances. Just activate Cruise Control, you can take a break from the gas pedal for a while. Very comfortable.
HOW TO USE
How to use Cruise Control is very easy. The driver just needs to press the activation button so that Cruise Control is active. However, the driver must accelerate the car to the desired speed before activating it.
Let's say the driver wants the car's speed to be maintained at 60 km/h. So he has to accelerate his vehicle to reach that speed and then press the Cruise Control button. After that the car will drive stably at a speed of 60 km/hour.
However, in some types of cars there is also a Cruise Control speed control button. The driver just needs to adjust it according to his wishes, either by increasing the speed or reducing it.
Usually car manufacturers set the lowest speed limit so that Cruise Control can be activated at a speed of 40 km/hour. If you go below this speed, Cruise Control will not be active.
Therefore, Cruise Control is very appropriate to use on freeways such as toll roads or quiet roads. Later the car will continue at a stable speed so that it is easier for the driver.
However, if used in a busy area, Cruise Control will be very dangerous. Cruise Control keeps the car's speed stable. In fact, on busy roads, the speed of the car often changes according to the path it is traveling on.
For this reason, it is recommended that you think carefully before using Cruise Control. Don't let using it actually endanger driving safety.
Even so, in certain types of cars, some equip Cruise Control with special sensors. This sensor is able to detect the presence of other vehicles in front of it using laser technology.
Later, when the sensor detects that another vehicle in front is too close, Cruise Control will automatically activate the braking itself. Thanks to that, the vehicle speed is reduced. However, once the vehicle in front is at a safe distance, the speed will increase again automatically.
With this capability, there are also cars that equip Cruise Control by adjusting the distance to the vehicle in front. Drivers can determine it according to their choice. Later, when the distance from the vehicle in front reaches the set distance, the car will slow down by itself.
Very helpful, right? Even though Cruise Control is able to make the car drive at a constant speed, the driver still has to concentrate on driving. Your feet must also be ready to press the brake pedal if needed or immediately turn off Cruise Control if necessary.
Apart from that, to ensure car comfort and safety, the use of quality tires is very important. Choose from well-known manufacturers such as Dunlop. With long experience, Dunlop is able to produce quality tires that provide the best performance.
