Jakarta, January 8, 2025 – Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. (SRI), a leading Japanese tire manufacturer, today announced the successful completion of its full acquisition of the Dunlop brand from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. This acquisition marks a new chapter in the global tire industry, significantly strengthening SRI's position as a key player in the global tire market.
Under the agreement, SRI will gain exclusive rights to the Dunlop brand for various product categories across nearly all global regions, including North America, Europe, and parts of Asia.
