Why should you avoid charging your cellphone in the car?
A modern car is generally equipped with many USB ports spread across several parts of the car. This feature is of course available so that drivers and passengers can charge gadgets while traveling. Even if there is no USB port, many cars are also equipped with alighter socket. So, you only need to buy an adapter to charge it.
However, does Drivemate know that charging your cellphone in the car can be dangerous, you know! Not only does it have the potential to damage the car, charging can also damage the HP Drivemate charge. Indeed, what is the reason charging HP in a car can have a negative impact?
3 Reasons to Avoid Charging Your Cell Phone in the Car
Broadly speaking, there are three reasons why charging HP in a car is not recommended for you. Here are the details why you should avoid it:
1. The car's electrical current is unstable
First, the car's electric current is generally unstable, especially if the Drivemate uses an adapter socket lighter to charge the cellphone. This unstable current occurs because the rotation of the car engine also goes up and down. Indeed, what happens if the electric current is unstable?
2. Smartphone batteries can be damaged
Unstable charging current can cause damage to the smartphone battery. This can happen because the cellphone battery is not working optimally when charging. As a result, the health of the cellphone battery decreases, especially if this is done continuously.
3. Draining car battery
Finally, charging the cellphone battery using the available charger socket will overload the car battery. If used for a short period of time, there probably won't be any major problems. But if done for a long period of time, the car battery will be drained and have the potential to have a negative impact on the car's electricity.
Tips for charging your cellphone in the car safely
If you still want to charge your cellphone using charger in the car, then there are several things that Drivemate needs to pay attention to. Here are some tips:
1. Select a suitable adapter
First, make sure that the adapter used fits the available plug. Some things that Drivemate needs to pay attention to are making sure the adapter is not loose, has the right Ampere size, and making sure that the charger used is a quality or original charger.
Using an incorrect adapter can cause several negative impacts, both for the car and Drivemate's smartphone. In some cases it can even cause sparks to appear.
2. Don't leave your smartphone on for too long
Next, Drivemate should not let the smartphone charge for too long, especially if you are still using the lighter socket to charge the phone battery. If the electricity is unstable, the socket or HP Drivemate can heat up quickly. This of course has a bad impact on the car's electricity, and definitely reduces the durability of Drivemate's cellphone battery.
3. Use a USB port instead of a lighter
socketIf your Drivemate car is equipped with a built-in USB Port, use that socket rather than the 12V socket generally used for lighters. This is because the electric current from the USB Port is much more stable than when using an adapter which is plugged into the lighter socket. Apart from that, you also don't need to be confused about finding the right adapter for your car.
4. Only use in emergency
situationsBecause the electric current is unstable, there are various negative impacts that can occur, especially on the smartphone battery. Therefore, only use this socket when it is an emergency. For example, when the cellphone battery has reached 1-5%, while the Drivemate's destination is still far away, or if the Drivemate needs the cellphone to be a navigation tool.
Rather than risk damaging the car's electricity, cellphone battery, or triggering other damage, it is better to charge your cellphone at home. Charging at home can be done with a more stable current and voltage, so that the cellphone battery lasts longer. If you have to charge it, don't forget the tips above! That way, Drivemate's cars and cellphones will last longer.
